About

Yijie's work is mainly about the observation of daily life, in order to carry out the process of thinking, development, and transformation. Focus on personal experiences and the things within reach. Her work materials usually focus on painting or daily materials. She wants to produce evocative works that escape the new forms of mannerism. Her work usually takes into account the concepts of conceptualism and learns something about iconography.

Due to the current situation. People can not go outside easily and students are taking online classes at home. It was like being stuck in a small area, so much of her life was on hold that he felt cut off from the outside world. So the recent project what she chooses was based on her living place. Her house plant becomes the subject. She is using this plant as a medium to explore some of the definitions of plants, the connection between social relations, and the thinking of language communication. She wants to weaken the natural image of the plant and substitute plants into the human social environment. Try to include naturalism and expressionism content.

This project is a  re-creation of her own image and it is a combination of idealism and escapism. And she wants to question the effectiveness and the dimension of communication in technology and life. The plants in the works are anthropomorphized, and the uncertainty of the future brought about by the variation of animals and plants caused by technology reflects people's deep unease in the current era of intelligence.
